Who are we?

a11y.co.mz is short for accessibility Mozambique. “a11y” stands for “accessibility”. The “11” represents the number of letters between the “a” and “y” in the word “accessibility”. We are an online hub for Mozambican web users and content creators. Together we insist on building more inclusive and accessible websites in Mozambique.

What do we mean by “inclusive and accessible” websites?

We mean websites designed for everyone, particularly people with, or experiencing, an impairment.

There are four main categories of impairments to consider:

Visual

Not able to see images, page layout or charts.

Icon of an ear

Hearing

Not able to hear music, video or alerts.
